Merchant FAQ.
Everything merchants ask before they apply. Can’t find your answer? Talk to a merchant specialist.
Onboarding
Who can onboard with FtdPay?
Licensed merchants in iGaming, forex/CFD, prop trading and crypto with $100K+ a month in volume, or a credible launch plan. New brands and pre-launch operators are welcome to apply.
How fast can I actually go live?
Most merchants are approved and processing within 48 hours of a complete application. Complex multi-GEO setups can take up to 5 business days.
What documents do I need?
Company registration documents, your license, beneficial-owner and director details, recent processing statements if you have them, and your AML/KYC policy. See the full list on the onboarding page.
Do you onboard pre-launch brands?
Yes, if you hold or are finalizing the required license and have a credible launch plan. Tell us your target GEOs and expected volume in the application.
MIDs and routing
Do I need my own MID?
No. We supply a dedicated MID matched to your vertical, not a shared pool, so your account isn’t exposed to other merchants’ risk.
How does smart routing work?
Each first deposit is scored, then sent to the MID and acquirer most likely to approve it based on live approval data by issuer, BIN, GEO and amount. Soft declines cascade to the next-best acquirer within scheme retry rules.
Which local payment methods do you support?
Depending on the GEO: Pix, UPI, open banking, SEPA Instant, Interac, local e-wallets, bank transfer and crypto on-ramps, alongside Visa and Mastercard.
Can I use my existing MIDs too?
Yes. Your existing MIDs can sit in the same router alongside ours, so FTD traffic always has a fallback.
Pricing and settlement
What does it cost to onboard?
Zero setup fees. You pay per-transaction processing rates, quoted after your application based on vertical, GEOs and volume.
How does the uplift guarantee work?
Before your pilot we agree your baseline FTD approval rate and an uplift target in writing. If we miss the target, you pay no performance fee. Standard processing fees still apply. Full terms are in your pilot agreement.
How fast is settlement?
Settlement runs on the cycle agreed in your contract, as fast as T+1 depending on vertical, GEO and payment method.
Is there a contract lock-in?
No long lock-in. Our pricing is built so you stay because approvals improve, not because you’re tied in.
Risk and compliance
Do you accept unlicensed merchants?
No. We onboard licensed businesses only, and we require you to block jurisdictions where your offering is prohibited.
How do you keep chargeback ratios down?
Pre-deposit fraud screening, pre-dispute alerts that resolve disputes before they count, clear billing descriptors, and daily monitoring against card-scheme thresholds.
Is my data secure?
Card data is tokenized and your application data is used only to assess and service your account. See our privacy policy for details.
